Glossary

A-15

Class for areas likely to be used exclusively by pedestrians and cyclists.

Anodized aluminum

Anodized aluminium is achieved by an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable and corrosion-resistant finish.

Application for residential

Lighting installations on low stands between 3 and 5 meters in urban areas for the illumination of pedestrian walkways, commercial streets, sidewalks and low speed routes.

Application for roads

The main objective of road lighting is to enable safe and comfortable vision for drivers and pedestrians, during the hours when natural light is not sufficient.

Application for tunnels

Lighting for covered road sections. Seeks to provide security, visibility and fluidity suitable for traffic flow.

Autoclave

Autoclave treatment ensures protection of wood for Class 4, with the aim of prolonging its life against attacks from xylophages.

B-125

Class for pedestrian areas and similar areas, parking spaces and multi-storey car parks for cars.

 Class Tapas y Rejas

C-250

Class for covering devices installed on kerbsides and gutter areas of streets, which when measured from the curb extends a maximum of 0.5 m over the roadway and 0.2 m over the pavement.

 Class Tapas y Rejas

CE

Derives from the French "Conformité Européenne" or European Compliance, and is a European trademark for certain groups of services or industrial products. Based on directive 93/68/EEC.

Colour temperature

The colour temperature of a lamp is the average temperature in Kelvin degrees which it has to reach a Planck radiator (black body) so that the colour tone (chromaticity) of the light emitted is equal to the considered lamp.

Comveg

Organic, eco-friendly and bio-degradable vegetable composite.

Corten steel

Corten steel is a type of steel with a chemical composition that makes the oxidation have special characteristics that protect the piece made with this material against atmospheric corrosion, practically without losing its mechanical characteristics.

D-400

Class for road surfaces (including pedestrian streets), stabilized kerbsides and parking areas for all types of vehicles.

 Class Tapas y Rejas

Driver/ Regulable driver

A driver is an electronic device that regulates the electricity flux ensuring that the LEDs are always fed with the correct voltage and current independent of the constant changes in the electrical properties of the LEDs.

E-600

Class for areas in which heavy-tonnage vehicles travel, for example aircraft tarmacs.

F-900

Class for areas subject to particularly high-weight loads, for example aircraft tarmacs.

Fungicide lasur

Lasur, unlike varnish, penetrates deep into the wood with an "open pore" finish regulating moisture in the wood and facilitating the exit of water vapour from the interior. Ideal for exterior wood exposed to major environmental changes. The flexibility of the resins allows it to adapt to the dimensional variations of the wood.

Galvanized steel

Steel processed with a treatment coating it with several layers of zinc, which protects the steel avoiding oxidation. Galvanized steel is also a material with a more durable finish that resists scratching and has a more attractive finish.

Grounding

Conductor that connects an electrical installation to the ground, as a safety measure.

IK

Coding system to indicate the degree of protection provided by enclosures against harmful mechanical impact, thereby safeguarding the material or equipment within.

IP

Coding system to indicate the degrees of protection provided by enclosures against access to hazardous parts, against penetration of water and to supply additional information attached to that protection.

Luminous efficacy

The relationship between the luminous flux emitted by the lamp and the power consumed by this. It is expressed in lm / W (lumens / Watt).

Luminous flux

Power emitted by a light source in the form of visible radiation and evaluated according to its ability to produce light perception, taking into account the variation of the sensitivity of the eye with the wavelength.

Metal halide lamps

Metal halide lamps are another variety of mercury vapour lamps. Inside the discharge tube, metallic additives are added to enhance certain parts of the visible spectrum thereby increasing their performance both in terms of light and colour.

Optical system

Responsible for controlling, managing and distributing light in the established and appropriate way.

Photometry

Photometry defines the shape and direction of the distribution of the light emitted by a point of light in space.

Polar diagram

Representation by polar curves of the values of light intensities in candelas.

Recyclable symbol

Materials used to manufacture this product can be recycled.

Regulating systems of the luminous level

Systems that simultaneously reduce the flux emitted by all the lamps of the outdoor lighting installations, reducing the lighting level while maintaining the uniformity of the installation.

RoHs

Restriction of Hazardous Substances - Refers to the directive 2002/95 / EC Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic appliances.

Rotomolding

Plastics processing technique that makes it possible to obtain hollow pieces in a variety of sizes and textures with little material and good stability.

Sodium vapor high pressure

A type of gas discharge lamp that uses sodium vapour to produce light. They provide a large amount of lumens per watt. The colour of the light produced is bright yellow.

Spectral distribution

The spectral distribution represents the amount of radiated energy emitted by the light source in different visible areas of the spectrum.

Tropical wood

Wood of physical and mechanical properties that make it suitable for use outdoors without additional treatment

UNE-124 norm

UNE EN-124 standard determines the construction principles of materials, classification, technology, testing and type of marking and quality control.
